How to Effectively View PowerPoint Presentations
on these Web Pages
To view a PowerPoint presentation,
you do not need PowerPoint or a PowerPoint Viewer. The latest edition
of Microsoft Internet Explorer is recommended .
You can view the slides using Netscape or other non-Microsoft browser,
such as Mozilla Firefox, but these programs will not allow you to see
the slides in large (Slide Show) format with its animations.
Getting into
the PowerPoint program
Begin by left clicking
on the highlighted link.
You might get a warning
before the presentation opens that suggests that some of the presentation's
formatting might be off. Click on the word "here" to view
the PowerPoint presentation anyway.
Viewing the Show
To View Show, click
on the icon at the right lower corner of the screen that is
labeled Slide Show.
(You won't see this icon if you're not using Internet Explorer.)
You will now be
in a full screen presentation of the show. Any animation or
sound will be activated in this mode.
Forward Navigation
- simply left click once in the middle of your screen for each
slide. Or hit the space bar and slide will advance.
Reverse Navigation
- Hit the Backspace on the keyboard.
Terminating the
Show
To end the Slide
Show mode, hit the Esc key in the upper left of your keyboard.
To return to the
web page where you started, hit the Back Button of your browser.
Alternatively, you may wish
to just look at the slides without going into Slide Show mode (and you
will miss the animations). You can click on the slide in the left column
to move from slide to slide. Or, hitting the space bar will advance you
to the next slide. The backspace key will send you back to the web page
from whence you started. The Back Button will do the same.
