The fall meeting of the Tennessee Association of Blood Banks (TABB)
was held on Friday, October 24, 2008 in the auditorium of the American
Red Cross, Nashville, Tennessee. There were 62 attendees.

Accreditation Programs Manager, American Association of Blood
Banks
Tony Casina,
Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics Marketing Manager for Worldwide Marketing
Immunohematology, discussed weak D.
Douglas Erickson, M.D., Laboratory Medical
Director, Centennial Medical Center gave the blood bankers a comprehensive review of
leukemias and lymphomas.
Mary Ellen Mooney is the Laboratory
Manager, Centennial Blood and Marrow Processing Lab and Sarah Cannon
Blood and Marrow Transplant Program.
Deborah Crow, PhD, is the
Laboratory Director of DCI Laboratory. The audience was treated to
a comprehensive discussion of HLA.
Danny Covington is a Lean Certified
Master and Blood Bank System Specialist, Immucor. He explained to the
audience that Lean could be a do it yourself improvement program.
